Radeon X1950GT Coming Soon

ATi plans to release Radeon X1950GT early next month and it should be the last card ATi is going to push out before R600 comes along in March. However, it won’t be a major push since only two AIBs or even one will be making those cards. Palit is confirmed pushing out those cards and probably Sapphire too. Radeon X1950GT based on 80nm RV570LE core will be clocked at 500MHz core and 1.2GHz memory. X1950GT is expected to face some issues in positioning within its own product lines and against NVIDIA 7950 line-up. X1950GT is said to be priced at US$ 169, in between X1950PRO @ US$ 199 and X1650XT @ US$ 149 so slight price difference might not proved too attractive to end users. Moreover, the upcoming launch of 8800GTS 320MB edition priced between US$ 299-$ 349 in mid Feb is sending GeForce 7950 series prices down as manufacturers and distributors are clearing stock ahead of the onslaught of the cheap 8800 cards.
