Razer BlackWidow Ultimate (Mechanical Gaming Keyboard) Review
The Razer BlackWidow Ultimate weighs a whopping 1.5kg and oozes of quality in its construction. In typical Razer fashion, the keyboard is covered with lots of glossy plastic and backlighting. Once plugged in, the keyboard greets you with nicely back-litted keys and Razer logo which is located at the bottom edge of the keyboard.
Gold Plated USB and Audio Connectors
The cable are thick and well braided.
The media keys have been nicely integrated into the function row via FN-key.
The keyboard has a thoughtful "Gaming-mode" which locks the Windows key by pressing FN + F11 to prevent accidental operation during intensive gaming. Brightness of the backlighting can be adjusted by pressing FN + F12.
On the left of the BlackWidow Ultimate, there are five programmable macro keys
There are also audio ports for your headphones and a USB port located on the right side of the keyboard.
Unfortunately, the placement of the connectors is a hindrance to right-handed gamers especially if the mouse is close to the keyboard.
Underneath, there are rubber paddings and rubber-capped feet which prevent the keyboard from sliding around during intensive usage.
