Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun recently released a report on the PlayStation 4, revealing a number of features, as well as a price for the upcoming game console

A recent article on the Verge details a report in Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun which reveals several of the features, as well as the price, of Sony's upcoming Playstation 4 console. The console, which Sony have teased will be revealed on February 20th, is expected to be releases during 2013 in America and Japan, according to the report. No information has been given regarding a European release date though, which has led some to believe the console won't be sold there until 2014.

The report lists a price of 40,000 yen for the console, which is just over $400; the price tag is high, but substantially lower than the PlayStation 3's 2006 launch price, whose most expensive configuration sold for $599. Considering the poor launch of the PS3, which was partially due to the high price, this may be a case of Sony learning their lesson.

This may be the what the new PlayStation controller will look like

The new features detailed for the console include a new controller which will retain the general dimensions of PlayStation's existing dualshock controller, but include a touchpad similar to the one featured on the back of the Playstation Vita. The Nikkei Business daily mentions the inclusion of another feature attributed to Sony's recent $380 million purchase of Gaikai, an online cloud-gaming service. The Nikkei reports that the PlayStation 4 will thus integrate cloud streaming features into the console.
