Our review unit comes in the standard retail box with the bundled accessories including a rear panel bracket, stand, remote control, power cable, screws and user manual. Despite the LED TV being extremely slim, it weighs a heavy 28kg, so we would not recommend trying to fix up the TV without help.
The rear panel bracket has to be installed with four screws in order to fit the stand. Of course, the LED TV also comes with wall mounting kits for users who prefer to place them on their living room or bedroom walls to save space.
At the rear, we also found four HDMI, component, composite, USB, VGA, RS-232C, digital audio output, USB and antenna – almost all you need to connect to your set top box and other media players. The built-in speakers are on both sides from the connectors.
With the remote control, you can easily access the TV’s main menu – Setup, Picture, Audio, Time, Option, Lock, Bluetooth and USB.
In the Picture menu options, you can choose to adjust the display settings like contrast, brightness, sharpness, colour and tint.
The USB port allows you to plug in a USB storage device with multimedia files (JPEG images, MP3 songs and DivX videos) and play them on the TV. The LG also have no problem playing Xvid videos.
You can choose to play your still images as slideshow with background music and even rotate the image to portrait orientation.
The SL90 also comes with built-in Bluetooth that supports wireless Bluetooth headset for user who wants to listen to the audio from the TV on their headset.
Other features include Smart Energy Saving Plus which helps to save power while bringing optimum image quality; Intelligent Sensor that can automatically adjusts the TV backlight from analyzing the ambient lighting; and 24p Real Cinema technology that matches the original 24fps frame rate of films to provide superior cinematic experience.
