RIM’s Playbook may run Android apps
Yes, you read right. The long awaited tablet from RIM, the Playbook, may be able to run applications for Android. How is that possible? More details inside.
According to various trusted sources, Research In Motion has been looking at getting a Java virtual machine on the tablet and is considering the Dalvik virtual machine. Sounds familiar? That’s because Android OS uses the same VM and it would allow the Playbook to run any applications built for the Android platform.
There are a few possibilities that RIM might take in this scenario and one of them is whereby RIM and Google reach an agreement, which officially provide support to Android apps on the Playbook.
