Rockstar pushes back release date of GTA V to Sept. 17, 2013
Rockstar has finally revealed a release date for one of the most anticipated games for 2013…but they've also pushed it back all the way to Sept. 17, 2013.
Rockstar's newest post on their Newswire update page reveals an official bona-fide release date for Grand Theft Auto V, but it's not the launch date we were expecting: the game has been pushed back from Spring 2013 to Autumn 2013.
Rockstar Games has the following to say about the game's moved release window:
"We know this is about four months later than originally planned and we know that this short delay will come as a disappointment to many of you, but, trust us, it will be worth the extra time.GTAV is a massively ambitious and complex game and it simply needs a little more polish to be of the standard we and, more importantly, you require. To all Grand Theft Auto fans, please accept our apologies for the delay, and our promise that the entire team here is working very hard to make the game all it can be.We are doing all we can to help ensure it will meet if not exceed your expectations come September – we thank you for your support and patience."
Many fans are no-doubt disappointed from the anticipation that went into a Spring 2013 release window, which probably led to more pre-orders and advanced purchases of GTA V. Rockstar is taking a few months to make the game better and refine Grand Theft Auto V to a fine sheen, and push-backs of such highly anticipated titles can be a common thing in the games industry.
Grand Theft Auto V is planned for release on Sept. 17, 2013 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. For more information please visit the game's official website.
