Roundup – USB 3.0 Flash Drives from Corsair, Lexar and Patriot

The Supersonic Magnum is Patriot's pride, being the fastest USB flash drive the company has available at the time of this review. The design of the drive is simple and understated; however, the Magnum is using a high quality aluminum housing which exhibits both high quality and ruggedness. The drive is capable of resisting shocks up to 15G, more than enough for it to survive accidental drops and bumps.

Although the simple rectangular shape hides it, the Supersonic Magnum actually is a very large USB flash drive, with the chassis measuring 2.6cm wide and 7.8cm long, although only 7mm thick. The cap of the drive may be inserted to the back of the device while it is in use, but that would prevent the use of a strap or keyring. Patriot claims that the Magnum can reach speeds of up to 200MB/s read and 120MB/s write. The drive is available only in 64GB and 128GB capacities at the time of this review.
