SINGAPORE – April 9, 2010 – Samsung has officially launched their 3D TVs for sale in Singapore. The Korean company is the first in the world to make full HD 3D LED TVs available to consumers in the region. At the same time, Samsung’s extensive line-up of more than 50 different TV models for the year is intended to provide consumers with a 3D TV model with the right features to suit every lifestyle.
To allow Singapore consumers to enjoy the full 3D home entertainment ecosystem, Samsung has also introduced a Samsung 3D promotion pack upon for consumers who purchase the Samsung 3D LED C7000 HDTV. The bundle includes the world’s first 3D Blu-ray player, the Samsung BD-C6900, as well as two pairs of adult-sized Samsung 3D glasses and a limited edition 3D Blu-ray disc, Monsters versus Aliens, from DreamWorks Animation.
When the Samsung 3D HDTVs were launched in Korea six weeks ago, more than 10,000 units were sold. Of these, 50 per cent of the 3D TVs sold were 55-inch models, indicating the consumer preference for large screen sizes to enable them to fully enjoy the immersive 3D experience.
The Samsung 3D LED C7000 HDTV includes a proprietary built-in 3D processor and emitter. This processor and emitter is optimized for, and enables compatibility with multiple 3D standards including half and full HD resolution formats as well as the Blu-ray Disc Association approved Blu-ray 3D standard. C7000’s 3D processor, with auto-conversion technology, is able to render 2D content to 3D in real time adding a new level of depth and clarity to any programme.
With built-in Ethernet connection and wireless-ready capabilities, the Samsung 3D LED C7000 is ready to meet the growing consumer demand for content without borders. The upgraded Internet@TV feature now includes Samsung Apps, providing consumers with an expanded, easy to navigate selection of content and applications from leading services.
In addition, Samsung’s 3D system delivers unsurpassed picture quality enhanced by LED edge-lighting. Samsung’s high-efficiency LED light source and proprietary picture enhancement engine with video processor allows for vibrant colors, deep blacks and better contrast ratios for an unbelievable, immersive viewing experience.
The 3D LED C7000 boasts a narrow bezel with Samsung’s advanced Crystal Design inspired by mystic earth (brown metal color). They are now available in 40-, 46-, 55-inch models at recommended retail prices of S$3,999, S$4,999, S$6,499 respectively.
