Samsung announces launch of new smartphones and tablets in Singapore

Samsung GALAXY Tab 7.0 Plus

The new Samsung GALAXY Tab 7.0 Plus is designed to offer a portable, rich multimedia experience on a 7-inch display, and packs power and productivity in a chic lightweight form factor. Weighing 345g and measuring 9.96mm thin, the GALAXY Tab 7.0 Plus is powered by 1.2GHz dual core processor and runs Google Android Honeycomb. It features Mini Apps which allow seamless multitasking by consolidating seven applications which is easily accessed from a bottom-side tray on the main screen. Users can launch favorite features such as music player or calendar as pop-ups over full screen applications. The GALAXY Tab 7.0 Plus also offers voice and video call support, without the need for a headset. Users can catch up with friends and family from anywhere, anytime with its high quality device large screen. You can also enjoy full high definition videos on the 7-inch WSVGA PLS display, with DivX and multi-codec support.
The GALAXY Tab 7.0 Plus will be available in January 2012 at S$768 (inclusive of GST), without line contract.

The Samsung GALAXY Tab 7.7 claims to be the world’s first tablet to feature the brilliant Super AMOLED Plus display. Powered by a 1.4GHz dual core processor for fast web-loading, seamless multitasking and superior multimedia performance, the Android tablet measures 7.89mm thin and weighs 335g, making it one of the most portable devices on the market. Incorporating the Super AMOLED Plus display, the tablet delivers a wider range of colors with greater separation between lights and darks, making images looked crisp and vivid. The GALAXY Tab 7.7 also supports 1080p full high definition (HD) video playback, as well as various video formats including DivX and multi-codec. It packs a 5,100 mAh battery which boasts up to 10 hours of video playback, and features HSPA+ 21 Mbps network for faster uploads and downloads.

The GALAXY Tab 7.7 is said to be the first mobile tablet to include a pre-loaded Game Hub that lets user access easy social games, all delivered with fast graphics; the Readers Hub offers a robust library filled with more than 2.3 million books, 2,000 newspapers and 3,000 magazines in up to 49 languages; and the Social Hub service lets you view your emails, contacts, calendar and social network connections into a single interface. On top of that, the GALAXY Tab 7.7 offers both voice and video calls and you can also make private calls in public places with the Receiver Mode.
The GALAXY Tab 7.7 will be available in February 2012 at S$898 (inclusive of GST), before telco subsidies.
