The developers over at XDA have successfully ported over the powerful camera app from the Samsung Galaxy Camera to the company’s flagship Galaxy S4. Although slightly buggy, you can now enjoy the same camera experience as found on the Galaxy Camera on your Galaxy S4.
The Samsung Galaxy Camera is the company’s premium digital camera, running on Android. Packing the same internal hardware as last year’s flagship, the Galaxy Camera is a powerful Android device when used as a phone, albeit devoid of cellular connectivity (no worries, there’s WiFi).
Anyways, the good news is that the powerful (and exclusive) camera app found in the Galaxy Camera has now been ported over, to the flagship Galaxy S4. While both the devices don’t have similar cameras, the app has been made to work on the 13 MP mobile camera module found in the Galaxy S4, complete with a plethora of cool features and photo filters useful for those into advanced photography.
While functional but far from complete, the current state of the Galaxy Camera app port allows you to take advantage of the following features:
- Photos and Videos
- Flash and Auto-Focus
- Beauty Face
- Slow & Fast Motion (for both front and rear cameras)
Features such as animated photo, dual view, burst shot, eraser, photo and video effects are
missing buggy as of now, but the developer promises to iron them out soon enough. For those who want to try out the Galaxy Camera app on their Galaxy S4, hit the source link posted below (link to instructions also posted below).
