Alleged Galaxy Note 3 prototype spied once again, looks even more gigantic
So you thought Samsung’s Galaxy Note 2 was huge, eh? Well, wait till you get ahold of the GNote 3, supposedly spied on for the second time in the span of just 24 hours.
First, a warning. There’s no way to know for sure the behemoth starring in this new “leaked” pic is the Note 3. It could be a (very elaborate) fake. Or, and this is actually very believable, it could be a real Note 3 tucked inside an empty shell.
Best case scenario, it’s a pre-release prototype of the thing without any bells or whistles and that still means the design can suffer tweaks between now and the time of its official release.
With all that out of the way, let’s just focus on the pic on hand. What do we see there? A massive rectangular slab of silicon (likely bigger than 6 inches), with two midgets (no offense) on each side.
On the left, there’s an ancient Nokia “dumb” phone (who the heck owns one of those nowadays?), while on the right we presumably have another prototype of an unreleased Samsung device. Oddly and hilariously, the other Sammy phone, which is turned on, shows an unblurred photo of the Sony Xperia Z.
We could take that as a hint the thing sports a 5-inch screen, in which case it becomes more than obvious the Note 3 has a bigger than 6-inch panel. But could Samsung be really willing to take such a huge gamble? True, the Koreans already have a 6.3-incher in their line-up (the Mega 6.3), but that’s marketed more as a niche device and the sales expectations are not as high as from a Note family member.
Only time will tell what exactly are Samsung’s plans for the Note 3, with our best guess at the moment including the following features:
- 5.99-inch 1,920 x 1,080 pixels resolution Super AMOLED display
- 2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor
- 3 GB of RAM
- 13 MP camera
- 182 grams weight
- 8 mm thickness
- All-plastic body
