Fresh rumors out of the rumor oven suggest that Samsung might launch the Galaxy Note III on September 27 in Taiwan, and some leaked pictures show off what is allegedly the device’s display panel.

Pictures of the display panel have shown up on two different sites, which make it likely that we might be looking at the real deal, especially considering one of them is a supplier of OEM parts for repair and refurbishing. The screen reportedly measures 5.68-inches and is only 1.8mm thin, and the width of the Note III is claimed to be pretty much the same as the second-generation Note, thanks to a smaller 2.2mm bezel.

A side-by-side comparison (seen above) with the Note II display frame shows the upcoming handset is only a tad taller. The edges of the display are quite akin to those on the Galaxy S4, and even the placement of the sensors on top seem unchanged compared to Samsung’s flagship smartphone. It’s better to be skeptical of the images’ credibility until official confirmation shows up, but judging by Samsung’s recent track record, the display panel pictured might really belong to the Galaxy Note III.

Circling back to the release date, Taiwanese site ePrice claims the Galaxy Note III will launch in Taiwan on September 26, with pre-orders going live as early as September 16. The dates might shift back or forth, but the site doesn’t expect any substantial changes in schedule. Previous reports suggest that Samsung will start shipping the device in Note III, so it’s possible the Taiwan release date may turn out to be right.

With the official unveiling of the Galaxy Note III merely days away, it’s not long before we find out whether these new rumors and leaks are the real deal or not. Hang in there, folks.
