Can’t wait until Samsung releases a Jelly Bean upgrade for your Galaxy S II?  Worry not, Jelly Bean-based CyanogenMod 10 is headed your way.  A preview release of CM10 for the Galaxy S II has appeared on the XDA forums, and although it contains bugs—not to mention no support from the devs—it’s worth looking into if you’re excited about adding JB to your beloved Galaxy S II.

It took awhile for developers to transition from CM7 to CM9, but that won’t be the case with CM10 since ICS and JB are very similar.  Samsung recently made the ICS update available for the Galaxy S II (a very welcomed update).  However, there are no words as to when an official JB upgrade will be available.

As with any unsupported CM releases, don’t expect the Galaxy S II preview release to be your daily driver.  It’s definitely worth following the development process, however, if you’re a Galaxy S II owner.

Brave souls who want to enter uncharted CM10 preview release territory may do so.  Or if you have a spare Galaxy S II lying around, you can flash the preview release and help the developers out by reporting bugs and glitches. Full installing instructions have also been posted.
