Measuring 106.5 x 53.9 x 17.2mm, the INNOV8 has a sleek black finish that looks extremely elegant. It feels a little heavy (at 140 grams it is heavier than most) and robust at the same time. The phone slides upward to reveal the alphanumeric keypad with brushed metallic exterior and backlight. Just below the 2.8-inch QVGA display are the left and right soft keys, talk and end call/power keys, gallery and menu quick access buttons (the mirror finish buttons on both sides) and four-way navigation and trackpad/confirm keys.
The volume control keys, 3.5mm earphone jack and a USB multifunction connector to charge the phone and connect to the PC are neatly laid out on the left . The 3.5mm earphone jack is a good addition especially if you have all along been using high-quality earphones. You would not want to rely on the manufacturer provided earphones with a proprietary connector. Other Samsung mobiles use a proprietary connector to the dismay of audiophiles.
On the right of the INNOV8 are a camera mode switch (photo, video and playback), a microSD memory card slot and a camera button. By pressing and holding the camera button, you can access the phone’s camera mode and the same button will also act as the camera shutter. Note that the lens cover automatically opens when you go into camera mode and closes when you exit.
Bundled accessories include power charger, USB cable, earphones and connector, two sets of earphones covers, 1GB microSD card with adapter, leather casing, lens cloth and software CD . The software CD contains PC Studio, USB driver, sample media files and Divx for Mobile.
