Samsung Introduces Star and BeatDJ full-touch mobile phones

Samsung Singapore has added two new full-touch mobile phones to their portfolio - Samsung Star S5233 and BeatDJ M7603. Both phones will be commercially available this coming weekend (23 May).

SINGAPORE, 13 MAY 2009 – Samsung today introduced two new full-touch mobile phones to give consumers even more full-touch screen options. The Samsung Star S5233 is an affordable 2.5G full-touch handset featuring a 3.0 inch WQVGA screen and while the Samsung BeatDJ M7603 is specially designed for music enthusiasts, equipped with built-in designer stereo speakers by Bang & Olufsen.

A Touch of Star quality: Samsung Star (S5233)
Adopting a 3.0-inch WQVGA full-touch screen, the sleek 11.9mm Samsung Star boasts a 3.2 mega-pixel camera and video recording supporting QVGA at 15fps. Featuring a brilliant 3.0-inch WQVGA full-touch screen, users can enjoy full internet browsing and entertainment with an accelerometer sensor for auto-rotation, allowing them to view images and videos in either landscape or portrait layouts.

The Samsung Star can also be instantly transformed into a mobile music library with its multi-format music support. Paired with music recognition capabilities through Shazam’s “Find Music” service, music lovers can access their favourite songs on radio and enjoy them with ease.

The Samsung Star S5233 is currently available in Noble Black at a recommended retail price of SGD398 without contract. It will also be available in Sweet Pink from 23 May onwards.

A Touch of Music: Samsung BeatDJ (M7603)
Designed for deejays in the making, the Samsung BeatDJ allows users to broadcast their best music mixes anytime, anywhere. The phone’s 2.8-inch AMOLED full-touch screen showcases the latest Beat DJ application which allows users to add their own voice and sound effects to their favourite tracks.

The DISC UI allows users to “scratch” the records to create their personal music while Shazam’s “Find Music” function helps users to find, purchase and recommend music to add to their personal collection. The phone features built-in stereo speakers powered by B&O’s ICEpower technology and SRS virtual surround sound, producing a deep rich bass and crystal clear treble. With 50MB of on-board memory and an expandable micro SD card slot which is expandable to 16GB, the Beat DJ gives all potential deejays full capacity to let their imaginations run wild.

The Samsung BeatDJ will be available from 23 May onwards at a recommended retail price of SGD648 without contract.
