Samsung jumps into Lightscribe bandwagon

Samsung has jumped into the Lightscribe bandwagon with the SH-W162L. This optical drive could do the usual DVD DL + and – formats. 16x write speed for DVD+R and DVD-R, and 8x for DVD+R and -R DL formats. “Samsung’s SH-W162L is an internal PATA DVD recorder capable of reading and writing DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+R Dual Layer and DVD-R Dual Layer.  The drive can write to DVDR media at 16X write speeds on certified DVD+R and DVD-R media, but can also write at 8X on both dual layer speeds — Plextor’s PX-760A can only write at 6X on dual layer DVD-R media, but it can write at 10X on DVD+R dual layer media.”
