Samsung launches affordable Omnia W Windows Mango smartphone

Samsung has unveiled their new Windows 7.5 (Mango) smartphone which comes in the form of Omnia W, and it will have a price tag of approximately US$420. The Omnia W will ship from end October in Italy and slowly to other countries including Asia.

If the recent reports are of any indication, Windows Phone 7.5 (also known as Mango) is arriving earlier than expectation. And Korean company Samsung has recently announced the launch of their new smartphone based on the Windows Phone 7.5 mobile operating system, the Omnia W.

Measuring 115.9 x 58.8 x 10.9mm and weighing 115.3g, the Samsung Omnia W sports a 3.7-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen (800x480 pixel resolution). It is equipped with a 1.4GHz processor, 8GB storage, 5-megapixel camera and supports 14.4Mbps HSDPA networks. The Omnia W will retail at around US$420 before taxes and subsidies, and commercially available starting in Italy from end of October and then gradually rolled out to other parts of Europe, CIS, Latin America, Africa, South East and South West Asia.
