Reported by on Monday, July 18 2011 1:06 pm

Remember the short story we published last week about Samsung releasing a bunch of new laser printers for sale in its domestic Korean market? Well, it turns out that the Korean electronics giant has got even more of such devices up its sleeves for its customers, and it comes in the form of five new monochrome laser printers, two of which boast multifunction capabilities. And yes, Samsung has confirmed that all five printers are economically-friendly models with the capability to reduce one's energy consumption.

Remember the little story we published exactly seven days ago about Samsung launching four new monochrome laser printers for personal and home office use? Well, it seems that the Korean electronics giant has more devices of such a nature up its sleeves, for the company has announced five new environmentally-friendly monochrome laser printers today. However, unlike the more consumer-oriented products that were launched last week, this batch of monochrome laser printers are designed for use mainly by small and medium businesses (SMBs).

According to Samsung, the standalone models, which are also known as the ML-2951D, ML-2950ND and ML-2955DW, will boast prints speed of up to 28ppm and sport a 533MHz processor. The printers are also capable of achieving a maximum print resolution of 1200 x 1200, while the built-in paper tray is reportedly big enough to accommodate up to 250 sheets of paper. Samsung has also claimed that the aforementioned eco-friendly characteristics of its printers will come in the form of a low noise output of 50dBa and lower toner consumption, while sporting what it calls an "Eco Simulator" which reportedly allows users to see the cost of their prints based on the amount of energy,  toner and paper consumed. In addition, the printers will come bundled with support for Mobile Print, which allows users to send print commands to the printer from their smartphones and tablets.

The other two models that were announced by Samsung today are the multifunction-capable SCX-4728FW and SCX-4728FD, which boast the added ability to provide scanning and fax support. Considering how there was little mention about both the SCX-4728FW and SCX-4728FD's specifications, we'd hazard a guess that they are largely identical to those of the aforementioned standalone models.

No details about product availability and pricing were revealed by Samsung in its announcement.
