Samsung Unpacked

Samsung Mobile UNPACKED event kicked off in Singapore (as well as in London and Dubai) few hours earlier at the Changi Exhibition Centre, and the Korean manufacturer unveiled their new mobile phones which include the Samsung Jet and new Omnia line-up – Omnia II (I8000), OmniaPRO series (OmniaPRO B7610, OmniaPRO B7320) as well as the OmniaLITE (B7300).

JK Shin, executive vice president and head of mobile communications division, Samsung Electronics, appeared as a 3D hologram at the event and gave the opening speech. The highlight of the show was the Samsung Jet, which claims to be “smarter than the smartphone”.

At the media question and answer session were Christopher Chew, corporate & brand marketing director for samsung Electronics SEA HQ; Yoonho Ha, president & CEO for Samsung Electronics SEA HQ; Hongsik Cho, senior vice president, East Asia Sales & Marketing; and Younghee Lee, vice president of marketing for mobile communication, Samsung Electronics.

According to Younghee Lee, there is no word on the pricing for the Samsung Jet though it would be “competitively” priced — about the same as the Samsung UltraTouch S8300.

Samsung also showcased its latest Omnia phones (which would also be at the CommunicAsia 2009) – the Omnia II (I8000), OmniaLITE (B7300) and OmniaPRO series (OmniaPRO B7610, OmniaPRO B7320).
