It's easy to forget that Samsung is a player in the interchangeable lens camera market as so far the company hasn't really impressed with its NX series of cameras. Now its upcoming NX20 model has leaked and it looks like Samsung has managed to catch up with most of its competitors, but if the preliminary specs are correct, not really overtaken anyone.

The NX20 is said to be slightly larger than the current NX10/11 models with an improved grip which can be clearly seen in the pictures.  Samsung has kitted out the NX20 with a 20.3Megapixel APS-C size CMOS sensor and the camera has an improved ISO range of 100-12800. The NX20 can also shoot 8fps and it has a max shutter speed of 1/6000 (up from 1/4000 for the NX11).

Sadly the 3-inch VGA resolution AMOLED display doesn't appear to have been updated from the NX10/11, but Samsung has at least done a side swivel display, much like the one on its EX1 compact. There's no word on whether or not Samsung has made any changes to the EVF, something a lot of it competitors have made vast improvements to over the past year.

Other features include built in Wi-Fi, i-Function 2.0, a built in flash, a hot-shoe for Samsung flashguns and a dedicated video button. The NX20 supports 1080p video, although it's not clear at what frame rates it'll be able to record video. As for the exact launch date and pricing, we're going to have to wait a while longer as this information hasn't leaked as yet.
