Samsung Series 9 TA950 3D LED HDTV monitor review: As good as it looks

Unlike conventional LCD monitors, the Samsung TA950 sports a unique design that looks extremely sleek and stylish. The display has a curved neck and connects to the right of the monitor's base. You can tilt the monitor front and back, and that's about it. The display measures just 11.4mm, which is even slimmer than the diameter of a ten-cent coin, and boasts 5ms response time, 250 nits brightness and 170-degree horizontal and 160-degree vertical viewing angles. The TA950 also features LED backlight for higher color gamut and better color accuracy, though the company (like many others) are erroneously marketing the monitor as an LED monitor. It is in fact, an LCD monitor with LED backlight.

The rear holds various connectors including composite, component, LAN, digital audio out (optical), DVI audio in, headphone in, two USB, two HDMI and antenna, which are more than sufficient to connect to your peripherals and devices. For a LCD monitor like this one, we are surprised it does not have VGA input; you can only hook it up via HDMI mostly. The Samsung TA950 also comes with two 7-watt built-in speakers that support Dolby Digital, SRS TheaterSound HD, DTS 2.0 and 3D Sound.

Bundled with the Samsung Series 9 TA950 3D LED HDTV are accessories including remote control, power adapter, video and audio cables, user manual, CD and active shutter 3D glasses.
