Samsung Singapore introduces Wave II and Galaxy 551

Samsung Singapore today introduced two new smartphones to their portfolio, the Wave II and Galaxy 551. The Wave II succeeds its Samsung Wave sibling and runs the company's proprietary Bada OS 1.2, while the Galaxy 551 is based on Android 2.2 Froyo platform.

Samsung Wave II
The Wave II (left pic) is the successor to the Samsung Wave smartphone, and sports a wide 3.7-inch SUPER Clear LCD display for a brighter view and improved outdoor visibility for enjoying games, videos and photos. Only 11.8mm thick, the phone features an intelligent T9 QuickType for faster and easier way to input text.
 
Running on the latest Samsung’s OS bada 1.2, the Wave II allows for push notifications to help users stay up to date with the latest applications or social news and events. It also comes with high definition (HD) recording and playback and allows users to capture with crystal-clarity.

Samsung GALAXY 551
The sleek GALAXY 551 appeals to consumers who want to stay connected with friends in real time. Running on Android Froyo 2.2, the phone features a hybrid user interface of both touchscreen and QWERTY keyboard for ease of keying in information. Samsung’s new TouchWiz 3.0 UI enhanced with Hybrid Widget and customisable home screen also enables for powerful multitasking to get more done in less time.
 
The GALAXY 551 also features universal text composer for SNS, calendar, memo and text messages, for writing on-the-go. With Smart scheduler and Enhanced ActiveSync, you can be sure you won't miss a social or work engagement.
 
The Wave II is available at a recommended retail price of S$598 and the GALAXY 551 is available in Modern Black and Cream White at a recommended retail price of S$468.
