It’s official, Samsung is set to lift the lid on the Galaxy S IV on March 14.

Prior speculations suggested that Samsung will launch the S IV in late March or early April to specific markets, and the latest word from Samsung pretty much confirms this rumor.  The Galaxy S IV event will take place in New York—a location that is no stranger to hosting high-profile tech launches.

While many believe that Samsung will use its next-gen Exynos 5 Octa (an “8-core”) in the Galaxy S IV, some other recent rumors have revealed otherwise.  Rather than going with its in-house ARM chip, Samsung is purported to go with a Snapdragon from Qualcomm*.  Stepping even further away from other Samsung-developed tech, the rumor also suggested that the South Korean tech-giant will use SoLux display tech instead of AMOLED.

*Samsung's use of the Snapdragon may only apply to US market.
