Samsung to unveil Galaxy Player at CES, rivals iPod Touch

Samsung has the answer to Apple's iPod Touch, and it comes in the form of Galaxy Player - in short, a Samsung Galaxy S minus the phone functionality. And according to news, the Galaxy Player will be unveiled at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show.

Samsung will showcase an Android music player to rival Apple's iPod Touch at the Consumer Electronics Show next week. Called the Galaxy Player (YP-GB1), the music player shares similar design to its immensely popular Galaxy S smartphone, except it doesn't have phone functionality.

It will come with Android 2.2 Froyo mobile OS, 1GHz CPU and 4-inch Super clear LCD display (800x480), Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and 3.2-megapixel rear camera and VGA front camera for video calls.

The Samsung Galaxy Player is said to come in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB capacities.
