Samsung unveils Multimedia Player R0 in Korea

Samsung has unveiled their latest R0 (YP-R0) multimedia player in Korea which supports both audio and video playback, and comes with a microSD card slot for expansion. The R0 comes in three colors – black, silver and pink – and feature a 2.6-inch TFT LCD screen and DNSe 3.0 sound enhancement technology.

Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. today announced the South Korean market launch of its newest multimedia player, the R0 (YP-R0), featuring advanced audio and video capabilities together with a microSD external memory slot that frees users of memory constraints.

With a sophisticated design and slim body measuring just 8.8 mm deep, and 2.6-inch TFT LCD screen, the Samsung R0 features generous memory capacity with a built-in MicroSD memory slot that allows users to boost storage capacity by up to 16GB. With a choice of models offering 4GB or 8GB of internal memory, consumers can enjoy a huge variety of multimedia content including video, music and pictures, without having to worry about running short of space. Also, in conjunction with the launch of the R0, Samsung is offering a 2GB MicroSD card for consumers who register the product at http://www.emodio.com/.

With intuitive “Drag & Drop” functionality, the R0 gives users the freedom to enjoy their audio/video libraries anywhere, anytime. For easy viewing of high-quality video, the Samsung R0 supports a range of popular formats including DivX, XviD, H.264 and WMV, eliminating the need for external conversion. In addition, Samsung’s patented DNSe™ 3.0 sound enhancement technology provides crystal clear sound quality to give users the ultimate multimedia experience.

Among the many added features, the R0 includes an FM Radio, second-language acquisition programs and a text/photo viewer. The device ships in three colors: Indie Black, Techno Silver, and Rap Pink. Prices are KRW139,000 (US$120) for 4GB of internal memory and KRW179,000 (US$154) for 8GB.
