Verizon has announced the addition of Samsung's ATIV Odyssey to its lineup of Windows Phone 8 devices. The arrival of the ATIV Odyssey makes it only the third WP8 device to become available on the nation’s largest carrier.
Verizon announced earlier today that the Samsung ATIV Odyssey has joined the carrier’s lineup of Windows Phone 8 smartphones. The device features a 4-inch (800×480) display, a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 8GB of ROM, 1GB of RAM, and a 2100mAh battery to keep it lit. Less significant features include a 5MP rear camera, a 1.2MP front camera, and microSD slot for storage (up to 64GB) expandability. Data-wise, the ATIV Odyssey is 4G LTE capable, which is a plus considering Verizon prides itself on having the best LTE network in the US.
Samsung's ATIV Odyssey is now available in-store and online for $49.99 after a $50 mail-in and new two-year contract.
The ATIV Odyssey is only the third WP8 device, thus far, that Verizon has chosen to carry, with the other two WP8 devices being HTC’s 8X, and Nokia’s Lumia 822. Currently, the Lumia 920 is an exclusive of AT&T, and there are no words as to when the Nokia flagship will be in Verizon’s lineup of WP8 smartphones.
