Critics haven’t been particularly kind to Samsung in the past few days, and Samsung’s competitors have taken this opportune time to load their mocking guns.
One such snub against the Galaxy S IV is the hash tag #theNextBigFlop, a play on Samsung’s recent campaign to mock Apple’s iPhone 5. HTC’s CMO, Ben Ho, also recently got his hands dirty by dipping into the pool of GS4 criticisms. According to the HTC big wig, Samsung’s latest Galaxy device is just “more of the same.” Some may agree with Ho, and others may not. Still, it is, from our perspective, always entertaining to see how competing companies take jabs at each other’s respective products.

This is Ho’s statement in full:
"With a continuation of a plastic body, and a larger screen being the most obvious physical change, Samsung's new Galaxy pales in comparison to the all-aluminum unibody HTC One.
This is more of the same. HTC remains the best option for those people looking for the best technology wrapped in premium design. Our customers want something different from the mainstream, who appear to be the target for the Galaxy.
"Our customers want original cutting-edge technology, mouth-watering design and a premium feel from their mobiles, which is why we created the HTC One."
Clearly, the point of emphasis in Ho’s judgment of the GS4 relies a lot on the device’s design, because as we all know, pound-for-pound, the GS4 and HTC’s latest One handset both punches with the same amount of ferocity.
Different designs doesn’t necessarily mean better sales figure, and HTC epitomizes that predicament. Nonetheless, there will be undoubtedly more snide remarks coming Samsung’s way in the coming week, so be out on the look for it if you need a bit of humor in your day.
