YP GP11 Samsungs YP GP1 media player beats iPod touch, but not quite a tablet

Dubbed as the Samsung YP-GP1, it has the resemblance of a Samsung Galaxy S III, but with a 5.8’’ 540×960 screen (minus the cellular radio, of course).  Interestingly enough, all the components in the device mimic that of what you would find in a mid to high-end Android smartphone.

The YP-GP1 boasts a dual core 1GHz processor, 1GB DDR2 RAM (quite generous to say the least), 3MP rear camera, stereo speaker, Bluetooth, a 2500mAh battery, and Android ICS to put it all together.

Some additional useful components in device include a GPS module and a FM radio tuner, which only adds to the value of a “media device.”

As with most other Samsung smartphones and tablets, the YP-GP1 comes with Samsung’s in-house Touchwiz and Motion UX.  And according to the source, people will be able to select from two colors; black and white.

Samsung is expected to reveal more details concerning the YP-GP1 along with the highly anticipated Galaxy Note 2 at the upcoming IFA 2012 in Berlin.
