Sapphire 4830, 4870, 4870 Toxic, 4850X2 (Part 2)

Part 2 of the Sapphire graphic cards comparison testing.

We cover game benchmarking and give final thoughts and conclusion.

Synthetic benchmarking is always a good measure to see how well a product may perform and can provide clues and information on how to improve or get the most out of the device. If you are familiar with motorsports there is a lot of benchmarking for cars and bikes on a dynamometer. This measures the torque and rpms of an engine and is an accurate representation from which the horsepower (HP) figure is calculated.

However, like many things there are a variety of other factors that needs to be put in place. For vehicles you also need to look at aerodynamics, tire choice, suspension, etcetera.

Therefore nothing beats real life testing where all the factors come together. So what better way than to put the graphic cards through some of the toughest games available today.

We tested all the cards with:

  1. F.E.A.R.
  2. Devil May Cry 4
  3. Far Cry 2
  4. Crysis
  5. Crysis Warhead
