SATA To Come With New Interface- mSATA
Serial ATA International Organization (SATA-IO) have announced a new specification - mSATA (you can call it mini-SATA)  interface, targeted towards Small Form Factors

mSATA will support 1.5 Gb/s and 3.0 Gb/s transfer rates while a more compact connector allows better integration with existing hard drives and SSDs where space is an issue. A good example will be the benefits for manufacturers who are incorporating small form factor SSDs into portable PCs where the SSD is about the size of a name card

mSATA will be demonstrated ad Intel Developer Conference (IDF) from 22nd till 24th September
