Scythe Chouriki 2 Plug-In 650W PSU Review

The chassis
of the Chouriki 2 Plug-In unit is sprayed with a grey paint finished in such a
way as to resemble a brushed aluminium surface. That is a rather difficult
paint job but the result is downright excellent; we could not spot the
slightest problem about it.

A sticker
with the power supply’s detailed electrical specifications can be found at the side
of the power supply. The chassis is only 16cm deep, which is only slightly
longer than the 15cm the ATX specification standard suggests, therefore it
should not prove to be a problem to install this power supply inside any ATX
compliant case.

The rear is
entirely perforated to allow for the air pushed by the cooling fan to escape towards
the outside of the case. A large on/off switch and a standard 3-DIN A/C power
plug can be seen at the rear of the chassis.

At the
front we can see the six connectors for the modular cables. The Molex-SATA
cable connectors are black while the PCIe connectors are blue. This unit offers
the following number of connectors:

Native cables

24-pin ATX connector

1 x 4+4 pin 12V CPU connector

Modular cables

2 x 6+2 pin 12V PCIe connectors

8 x SATA connectors

6 x Molex connectors

2 x Floppy connector
