Sharp and KDDI have jointly announced the launch of the new Android smartphone in Japan. Called IS03, the phone runs on Android 2.1 OS and features a 3.5-inch LCD touchscreen that supports 960×640 resolution, as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless connectivity.
Today, the ISO3 Android smartphone was announced in Japan by Sharp and cellphone operator, KDDI. It is the second Android smartphone in the IS series and KDDI is marketing it under “Android au”.
The ISO3 sports a 3.5-inch touchscreen (960×640) and runs on Android 2.1 operating system. (No news on upgrade to Android 2.2 “Froyo” yet). It also features IEEE 802.11b/g wireless LAN, Bluetooth, 9.6-megapixel integrated camera and microSD card slot for expansion. With Flash Lite 4.0, you don’t have to worry about loading Flash-enabled web pages.
Available in Orange, White and Black, the ISO3 will retail approximately end of November. Pricing will be announced closer to retail date.
