(Sharp Japan) The netbooks around the market are more or less the same, except the design and different variation of the same specifications.

Today, Sharp announces in their press release – Mebius, not just your usual netbook but a netbook with a LCD touchpad.

Available in either white or black, the Mebius comes with a 4 inch LCD touchpad with a new touch-sensing recognition method. In addition to conventional mouse operation, it allows pen-based input of drawings and text, as well as multiple-finger-touch operation (gestures) to enlarge, shrink, or rotate items on the screen.

Sharp’s optical sensor LCD pad requires no touch sensor or protective film, so illustrations and photos are crystal clear. And the large effective operation area allows for more freedom of movement.

It was also mentioned such a technology will also be brought to other future models.

Sharp Mebius will be available in Late May 2009
