One area where SilverStone has struggled a bit in past is when it comes to cost, as most of its chassis have been quite expensive. As such the company was working on a new series for the Chinese market that the company has now decided to launch globally which will be known as the Red Line series.

The first chassis in the new series is the RL01 which is a very functional chassis without too much bling. In fact, the only bling on the chassis is the backlit, red SilverStone logo which also doubles as the power button. The model on display at CeBIT was the Chinese SKU, but the global model will get upgraded slightly, as SilverStone will swap the front USB 2.0 ports for USB 3.0 ports.

The chassis is pretty standard otherwise with three front 5.25-inch drive bays, one 3.5-inch drive bay, five internal 3.5-inch drive bays and space for a 2.5-inch drive. One interesting addition is the magnetically attached dust filter on the top of the chassis, an unusual addition, but at least something that will be easy to remove and clean. The RL01 might compare poorly to some of SilverStone's other chassis in terms of features, but we were told it should hit retail at around US$60 which makes it a pretty affordable option from SilverStone.
