It’s been a while since we have taken a look at a Silverstone
power supply. Some time ago we checked out the first SLI certified power supply,
the Zeus ST65ZF. Although
there has not been any new addition to Silverstone top range power supply since
then, there is a new addition to the family of Zeus power supplies recently
with the unique ST56ZF. This 560W Power Supply has a single rail…. a beefy 38
Amps
on a single +12v rail!

power supply. Some time ago we checked out the first SLI certified power supply,
the Zeus ST65ZF. Although
there has not been any new addition to Silverstone top range power supply since
then, there is a new addition to the family of Zeus power supplies recently
with the unique ST56ZF. Why unique? Well instead of the common trend of going
multi-rails, this 560W Power Supply has a single rail…. a beefy 38
Amps
on a single +12v rail!

Why Single Rail? Well there are benefits to having a single
rail power supply. You do not need to fret about which rail your components
are drawing from, as you may fear the overloading of a particular rail in a
multi-rail environment. For this case, there is no such worry. The prescence
of the molex and floppy power connectors on many of the recent motherboards
are hgihly likely there for this reason: so as to draw from more than 1 rail
if you are using a multi-rail power supply.

The EZ-Plug Connector on ASUS A8N

For this power supply, I doubt there is any need to hook on these connectors.
