Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300 owners who have been experiencing abnormal battery usage during standby will be happy to know that the battery is actually not draining as reported by the system.

Owners of the i9300 may have noticed that their phone is reporting battery drainage between 50% and 70% during standby, and this is not true because XDA developers has found out that Samsung made a mistake in the power_profile.xml.

Samsung, perhaps, mistakenly set the cell standby value to 34mA in the power_profile.xml.  A simple fix to this is simply to reset the value to 3.4mA—which, XDA devs claim is a more “reasonable” value.

A mod has been created by XDA devs to fix this problem, but it is important to note that the mod is intended to fix the wrong report, and not fix battery drainage from other user installed apps and/or profiles.

“This mod will fix the wrong reporting of “cell stand by “usage to some extent. If your mobile has actual drain due to signal issues or some other issues do not blame me or any other for not fixing this.”
