Singapore Police Force launches Police@Sg iPhone and PoliceLife@SG iPad apps

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) has launched its mobile applications, Police@SG for the Apple iPhone and PoliceLife@SG for the iPad. The Police@SG iPhone app is designed to provide public quick access to information and services on the go including crime news, viewing videos and sharing content on Facebook and Twitter. Both apps are free to download from the Apple iTunes store.

Today, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) has announced the launch of its mobile applications, Police@SG on iPhone and PoliceLife@SG for the iPad. The Police@SG iPhone app is one of two applications the Police have developed this year to provide members of the public convenient access to useful information and services on the go. The PoliceLife@SG on iPad App allows users to read Police’s in-house magazine – Police Life Monthly (PLM) – using the iPad. Both applications are showcased as part of the exhibitions of the “Enjoying a Digital Lifestyle 2011” event at HDB Toa Payoh Hub.

The developments represent a breakthrough in Police’s ongoing efforts to leverage on social media and mobile technology to reach out to the tech savvy public. The Singapore Police Force hopes to galvanise the online community into action and participating in Police’s initiatives and programmes to fight crime. The law enforcement agency believes that everyone can play a part to keep the neighbourhoods safe and secure.

The Police@SG iPhone App provides up-to-date crime alerts and crime prevention advisories even when you're on the move. Key features include:

- Latest crime news, Police appeals for information and missing persons
- Locating the nearest Police station from your current location
- Sharing of content on Facebook and Twitter
- Viewing videos from SPF
- Viewing crime statistics around your neighbourhood

The Police@SG iPhone App is free and will be available for download from the iTunes Store next week.


With the PoliceLife@SG iPad App, you can now access the electronic version of PLM magazine. You can view the videos related to the articles you are reading, and also conveniently access Police’s social media channels on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Razor TV .

The PoliceLife@SG iPad App is free to download and is available now on the Apple iTunes Store. Simply search for “PoliceLife@SG” in the iTunes Store’s search bar.
