SITEX 2008: Your Digital Playground – The Coverage

The G50V, which runs on the latest Intel Centrino 2 (Montevina) technology, is the updated version of the highly popular G1Sn gaming laptop.

It is powered by a fast Core 2 Duo T9400 (2.53GHz) processor, and paired with 4GB DDR2 RAM and 2GB of Intel Turbo Memory!

A 15.4″ screen is fitted on the G50V which is able to display a high resolution of 1680 x 1050. To drive this amount of pixels smoothly, ASUS has employed NVIDIA’s latest GeForce 9700M GT 512MB chip to take care of graphics.

So what’s the asking price? $3098. But you get stuff like a gaming mouse, ASUS G-series backpack, gaming headset, and Microsoft Office 2007!

If you’re seeking an entertainment machine, perhaps you might want to try out the M50V which is retailing at $2898. This machine comes with a large 500GB capacity hard disk, and a Blu-Ray DVD Combo drive. The touchpad is a little different with multimedia functions ‘integrated’ into it.

Looking for something stylish? Check out the ASUS U2E with leather surface!

Moving on to ASUS’ netbook section, the premium Eee PC S101 is retailing at $1098 (with a free Targus bag). Underneath its keyboard lies an Intel Atom N270 (1.6GHz) processor and 1GB DDR2 RAM. Instead of conventional mechanical hard drives, the S101 comes with a 16GB solid state disk (SSD) which has no moving parts.

SSDs are better if you’re a clumsy user as hard disk failure and data loss caused by drive heads crashing is completely eliminated.

If you’re looking for something refreshing, the ASUS F6V might just be the one for you. There are three colors to choose from: blue, green and pink, with each color sporting a unique design.

The F6V is based on the latest Intel Montevina platform – comes equipped with a Core 2 Duo P8600 (2.4GHz) processor, and WiFi Link 5100 wireless-N. The display is 13.3″ widescreen, powered by ATI’s Mobility Radeon HD 3470. This unit retails for a nice $1798.

ASUS has their latest PDA phone, the P552w for sale at this show.

It is a 3.5G GPS PDA phone running on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional. The P552w is powered by a Marvell Tavor (624MHz) processor and has 256MB flash and 128MB SDRAM.

Just $669 will get you one of this!
