SLI Mode on Non NVIDIA Motherboards?!

Dailytech has some really interesting drivers for those who have 2 PEG (PCI
Express Ports), but not NVIDIA based, yet yearn to run 2 NVIDIA cards in SLI
mode. They’ve got the patcher from the ULi’s driver set, to enable SLI mode on
just any motherboard with 2x PEG slots, be it NVIDIA or not. It’ll be very, very
interesting to see the 3D performance of Intel chipset based boards, especially
those based on the 975X / RD580 chipsets. These chipsets are Crossfire enabled,
but not SLI enabled, but with this patch, it’s the best of both worlds. Check
out here, for a
complete listing of chipsets that feature 2 PEG slots, but not authorized to run
SLI.
