Sony Ericsson 7-inch 4G-capable tablet device spotted

Sony Ericsson

Sony Ericsson has previously stated that it will not be launching a Windows Phone 7 smartphone or tablet devices anytime soon. However, it looks like the company may have a tablet device in the works, and one such prototype has been spotted.

Last June, a top executive from Sony Ericsson has expressed that the company will be focusing on smartphones although it will also not rule out the possibility of tablet devices. Ever since Apple has launched the iPad, various manufacturers have jumped onto the tablet bandwagon.  But not Sony Ericsson who stated there won't be a Windows Phone 7 or tablet product at this point in time.

Recently, NieuweMobiel has exposed a Sony Ericsson prototype tablet. From the picture, it looks like the device is about 7-inch and there is a LTE 4G logo on the bottom left of the display. The tablet also sports a 3-megapixel front camera with three buttons below it, and the speakers are on both sides of the screen. It may still be a prototype and probably won't be launched anytime soon.

It is also obvious that this Sony Ericsson tablet is different from the recently exposed S1 tablet. We are led to believe that it will run Android OS.
