Sony Ericsson unveils new phones – Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray, Xperia Active and Txt
Even though Sony Ericsson didn't have a presence at the Communicasia 2011, it doesn't mean that the company has no new announcements. In fact, this afternoon, the mobile phone maker announced three new phones, namely the Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray, Sony Ericsson Xperia Active and Sony Ericsson Txt. VR-Zone brings you the coverage.
Steve Walker, chief marketing officer of Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications, said that the company is truly the communication and entertainment brand, delivering the very best in communication and entertainment experiences into one device, making it exciting for all consumers.
"The essential formula of Sony Ericsson's great offerings in the marketplace - taking the best of the Android platform, built together with the powerful processor chip from our partners and bringing the best core technologies into our products. On top of that, building the entertainment assets that we bring from the Sony family including fantastic camera and beautiful screen as well as services and content into our portfolio. Taking the best of Android and the best of Sony, with the fabulous Sony Ericsson's design, both hardware and software, bring the package together and release a fantastic product into the market for consumers."
Aside from the success of the Xperia Arc and more games that have been developed for the Xperia Play, Walker also mentioned that the Xperia Mini and Mini Pro, the company's second generation Mini products (not to be confused with the Xperia X10 mini and X10 mini pro) would be launched soon.
Ola Lilja Molén, vice president of marketing, Asia Pacific Region, Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications unveiled the Sony Ericsson Active and Sony Ericsson Ray smartphones and introduced the various features. Walker also mentioned that the Sony Ericsson Ray is designed for the mass market and the company believe it will do extremely well.
The new Sony Ericsson Active, Ray and Txt (together with Smart Extras – LiveDock docking station and LiveSound headphones) are scheduled to launch in Q3 this year. No pricing details available at press time.
