Sony Ericsson Unveils Xperia X8, Yendo and Cedar Smartphones
The Xperia X8 is smaller than its older X10 sibling, though it also incorporates Android 1.6 OS. According to the maker, Sony Ericsson phones can be used easily with just one hand.
At the top are the 3.5mm audio jack, USB connector and power/lock button. The 3.2-megapixel camera is at the rear of the phone.
On the right is the camera/shutter button and camera zoom/volume controls.
You can zoom in/out of your pictures by touching and sliding your thumb up/down, unlike some touchscreen phones which you have to pinch at the display.
The X8 also comes with White, Dark Blue/ White, Aqua Blue/ White, Pink/ White, Silver/ White back covers, and all the three phones are scheduled to be available in Q3 this year. Sony Ericsson also announced Android 2.1 updates for the X10, X10 mini and X10 mini pro (as well as the X8) in Q3. However, there’s no new announcement to the new Android 2.2 update which is rumored to be out fairly soon.
