Sony Ericsson has recently announced the Android 2.1 update for the X10. While the update offers some improvement and additional features, it still has some flaws such as the lack of multi-touch since day one of its launch. However, good news for X10 users, as the company has planned to provide “pinch zoom” feature via over-the-air update for the X10.
Good news after another for Sony Ericsson X10 owners. Firstly, it was the Android 2.1 upgrade which was promised by the company, and it has delivered its promise unlike other phone makers. And now, Sony Ericsson has recently shared on its blog that it will be bringing “pinch zoom” multitouch feature to the X10, on its web browser and Google Map. Other apps could also use the feature, like the popular “Angry Bird” game. (Check out the video below).
According to the blog post, the company “aim to enable multi touch (pinch zoom) in an over-the-air update for the X10. The timing for this update is still a bit work in progress but it will for most markets be during Q1 next year”.
Now, if only Android 2.2 (Froyo) or even the upcoming Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) updates will also come to the X10. Well, we can only hope for more good news from Sony Ericsson.
