As if the recent rumor bonanza was not enough to convince the world Sony is this close to rolling out an international version of the Xperia Z1 f dubbed Z1s, a likely accidental official confirmation of the phone’s existence has come earlier today.
The handheld has been listed on Sony’s official online mobile store for a little while, being predictably yanked off the site as soon as the admin noticed the blunder. Or maybe it was an intentional listing after all to get us to notice the little smartphone that could?
That’s certainly a possibility, as is an innocent typo being slipped on sonymobile.com. Only it’s too big of a coincidence for it to happen just as we’re all expecting Sony to formally announce the Xperia Z1s.
Remember, the Japanese unveiled the 4.3-incher in an NTT DoCoMo-exclusive flavor a month or so ago, with the purported “international” variant subsequently appearing in the flesh courtesy of sources that are usually very much in the know and right on the money.
Though it’s never wise to have certainties, chances are the Z1s will be an identical twin for the Z1 f, with the same uncompromising spec sheet and compact body. Specifically, a 4.3-inch 720p panel, quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU, 2 GB RAM, 20 MP rear-facing camera, 16 GB of storage (to start with), and massive 2,300 mAh battery.
Alright, Sony, your buzz-building time is up. Bring the Xperia Z1 on and please, pretty please, price it sensibly. If you play your cards right, this may just become one of the biggest blockbusters in Android history. Am I right or am I right, dear readers?
