Sony is probably one of the few android manufacturers out there that just can’t keep their upcoming products under wraps. First it was the Xperia Z3 that leaked in all its glory and now it’s the turn of Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.

The product page of the Xperia Z2 tablet on Sony’s official website shows the picture of a smaller, ultra slim Xperia tablet under the section detailing the Xperia Z2 tablet’s display. Clearly, this seems to be a major goof-up or perhaps even an intentional leak by Sony to create hype for the Compact tablet before its official unveiling next week.

The text under the image states “With IPS technology, the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact offers an improved viewing angle. So you get super sharp images and accurate colours, no matter which angle you’re looking at your device from”. Now, that obviously does not tell us anything much about the tablet but it does show a beautiful thin metallic side frame. A 3.5 mm headphone jack and magnetic charging pogo pins can also be seen in the image.

This is not the first time that Sony has “accidentally” leaked the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. Earlier this week, Sony had posted an image of a white one on its official Facebook page. That image showed us the tablet’s super thin bezels, which come as a welcome relief after the Xperia Z2 Tablet’s gargantuan bezels. Going by the leaks so far, the Z3 Tablet Compact should have a very high screen-to-body ratio and be quite handy as a small tablet.

Overall, the Z3 Tablet Compact definitely seems like a tablet to watch out for. While we haven’t seen it in detail yet, it does seem to be an absolute looker. And the specs aren’t too shabby either according to rumors on the web. It will reportedly feature an 8 inch Full HD IPS display, Snapdragon 801 chipset, 3GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, 8 megapixel Exmor RS camera and LTE connectivity. With exactly a week left for Sony’s IFA press conference, these images certainly make waiting a wee bit more difficult for us.
