Sony Mobile announces new Xperia smartphones in Southeast Asia
Today, Sony Mobile unveiled six new Xperia smartphones for the Southeast Asia market, which include Xperia ion, Xperia go, Xperia acro S, Xperia neo L, Xperia miro and Xperia tipo.
The Xperia ion was announced at CES earlier this year, sporting a 4.6-inch HD display, equipped with 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 16GB flash storage and 12-megapixel rear camera that can snap in just over a second with a single key press from sleep mode. Preloaded with Android 4.0 ICS, the Xperia ion will be made available in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore in Q3 2012.
The sleek and stylish Xperia go isn't just all about looks; it is also durable and water resistant. It has a 3.5-inch Reality Display powered by Mobile BRAVIA Engine that offers superb entertainment. Powered by 1GHz dual core processor, the smartphone features a 5-megapixel camera that can go into capture mode very quickly. Launching on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the Xperia go is upgradeable to Android 4.0 ICS. It will be available from Q3, 2012 in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.
Xperia acro S
The Xperia acro S boasts a 4.3-inch HD Reality Display for razor sharp clarity. It features full HD video recording, HD video chat, HDMI out to TV and is NFC-enabled for opening applications using the Xperia SmartTag. It is PlayStation certified and runs Android 4.0 ICS. The Xperia acro S will be available in Singapore and Indonesia in Q3, 2012.
