Sony PlayStation Move to launch in Singapore on 15 September

This afternoon, Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong (SCEH) announced their highly anticipated PlayStation Move motion controller for the PlayStation 3, which will be available in Singapore next month, on 15 September.

“Our PlayStation 3 (PS3) has shown a steady growth, and this is not just hardware but software. The success of the PS3 in Singapore is thanks to no piracy and features such as Blu-ray drive, Full HD, Wi-Fi, built-in hard disk, PlayStation network and exclusive games. And today, we introduce the PlayStation Move, a new product which can expand the world’s entertainment,” says Tetsuhiko Yasuda, President of Sony Computer Entertainment Asia.

Norihiro Nishimura, game developer for Namco Bandai, introduced the upcoming games including Time Crisis: Razing Storm and Dead-Storm Pirates, and demonstrated the game play.

Katsuhiko Murase, Deputy MD of Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong, talked about “Empathy” whereby gamers not only enjoy the game, but being immersed in the game, as well as technology behind the PlayStation Move.

The PlayStation Move looks like a wireless microphone except that it has an orb at the top that can glow in a variety of colors. The standard square, triangle, circle and cross, as well as select and start buttons of the PlayStation controller can also be found on the PlayStation Move.

You can fit the PlayStation Move in the additional shooting attachment which makes it easier for gamers to use on shooting games.
