Today, Sony unveils their new BRAVIA LCD TV range which include the WE5, Z5 and ZX1 series at the Red Dot Design Museum in Singapore. The ZX1 and WE5 LCD TVs will be available in June and June/July respectively, while the Z5 will be available in September.
At the event, Takeo Kobayashi, managing director of Sony Singapore, talked about the three new LCD TV series offerings, with superior features and performance designed for users of various needs.
The new BRAVIA Z5 series (model: Z5500) claims to provide Full High Definition (HD) 1920 x 1080 entertainment experience with advanced motion performance featuring Motionflow 200Hz technology. It also offers S-Force Front Surround and Voice Zoom that enhance audio reproduction for a complete home cinema experience. The BRAVIA Z5 series will be available in Singapore from September 2009.
The BRAVIA WE5 series LCD TV comes with environmentally friendly features such as the world’s first Microtubular HCFL, a Presence Sensor and an Energy Saving Switch to achieve minimal usage of energy without compromising picture quality. The intelligent Presence Sensor function is able to sense if a viewer is present in the room and temporarily turn off the TV picture to reduce power consumption if viewer is not present.

The BRAVIA ZX1 claims to be Sony’s slimmest Full HD LCD TV, measuring a mere 9.9mm in depth. It incorporates Edge LED and Motionflow 100Hz technologies to achieve superior image quality. On top of that, the ZX1 also utilises ‘BRAVIA 1080 Wireless’ technology that allows user to connect other home entertainment devices such as a Blu-ray player or PLAYSTATION®3 through a wireless transmitter which will in turn transmit the video signal to the LCD TV. The new BRAVIA ZX1 will be available from June 2009.
