Sony SxS PRO 64GB memory card offers fast speeds and huge capacity for professional film makers

Today, Sony Electronics Asia Pacific unveiled their new SxS PRO 64GB  memory stick targeting at professional film makers. Compatible with XDCAM and XDCAM EX, it offers superb data reliability with features including error correction, wear levelling and power failure management.

The new SxS PRO from Sony claims to possess faster read and write speeds of 1.2Gbps, and has a huge 64GB capacity. The SxS PRO 64GB can capture video of high bit-rate and holds about 120 minutes of footage in HD422 50Mbps in MXF mode. On top of that, it allows users to copy to a PC in just around eight minutes.

Professional filmmakers will appreciate its data reliability, high durability and useful functions with XDCAM/XDCAM EX, included in the full SxS memory card range, which is achieved through “Intelligent Technology by SxS”. It features error correction, wear levelling, read reclaim, power failure management, and more ensure superior data reliability and durability in even the most severe operation and storage temperatures. Like its SxS predecessors, the SBP-64A offers salvage function and slow-motion recording function as a result of being co-engineered with XDCAM/XDCAM EX.

 The SxS PRO 64GB will be available in Asia Pacific from October 2011.
