Sony has acquired Ericsson's shares in the venture last month, and the Xperia S is the company's first smartphone that was announced earlier this year. Well, good news for those of you waiting for this phone, the Xperia S is now available in Singapore.
Powered by 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 32GB flash storage and running Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the Xperia S claims to be the first Sony smartphone from the Xperia NXT series to offer users high definition (HD) experience, and let them share content easily across multiple screens. The Xperia S features a razor-sharp 4.3-inch Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine display and a 12-megapixel camera that can snap pictures in just 1.5 seconds from standby. You can also connect the smartphone via HMDI to TV or share photos wirelessly with just one touch. In addition, the Xperia S incorporates Near Field Communication (NFC) technology that lets users share content as well as utilize various NFC applications and services.
The Sony Xperia S is available in Singapore today, in Black and White at a recommended retail price of S$898 without contract. According to the company, the Xperia S will be upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich during the second quarter of 2012.
